The people of Laois are the biggest users of eBay in Ireland.
Trading website eBay.ie reported this week that the people of County Laois are its biggest users in the Republic of Ireland, spending more per capita on things like cars, coins and laptops than anywhere else in the country.
The online marketplace giant eBay opened offices here in 2005 and has experienced rapid growth among Irish consumers. According to Malachi Quinn of eBay a wide variety of goods are being bought and sold.
Everything from stamps, coins, cars, televisions, laptops.
Sarah McNamara started selling stamps and coins on eBay a couple of years ago, and is continuing to do so,
I got a great buzz out of it, and I just had to keep going.
Preferred items being purchased on eBay vary widely from county to county, with motorbikes most popular in Westmeath, and musical instruments in Kerry.
