On 14 September 1999 a bust of Gay Byrne was unveiled at the RTÉ Radio Centre in Donnybrook. Colm Connolly reports for RTÉ News.
Gay Byrne was back in RTÉ today for the unveiling of a specially-commissioned sculpture of him. The bronze bust, unveiled by Director of Radio Helen Shaw, was executed by Gaybo's colleague, Pat Gilsenan, and commemorates the decades of broadcasts Gay made on radio and television.
