Over half a billion euro of prize bonds were sold last year, according to the latest report from the Prize Bond Company.
Gross sales reached €537 million, a reduction of 6% on the previous year.
It brought the total value of the prize bonds fund at the end of 2019 to €3.655 billion.
That was an increase of 7% on the figure at the end of 2018.
It was also the highest in the scheme's history.
The number of cash prizes won by holders of prize bonds increased by 10.5% to almost 250,000 while the value of prizes awarded increased by 7.2% to reach €17.6 million.
