Gerard Whelan has been appointed chief executive of national radio station Newstalk.
Mr Whelan - who had previously held a number of positions at Kingspan - replaces Frank Cronin, who resigned from the role in February.
Communicorp chief executive Gervaise Slowey said he was “delighted” with the appointment, adding that Mr Whelan’s “wide-ranging expertise will be extremely beneficial to the station.”
He will take up the role on 2 September.
