Former president of the European Parliament Pat Cox has been appointed as a special adviser to the board of Certus.
Certus is a bank services outsource provider which was set up to manage Bank of Scotland (Ireland) loans after it was decided to wind down the bank's Irish business.
Certus also announced today that Liam Young, founder of call centre company Conduit, is also to take up a role as a special adviser to the Certus Board.
Mr Young established Conduit in 1996 and built up the company in Ireland, the UK, Spain, Austria and Switzerland before selling the company to Infonxx for $120m.
The CEO of Certus, Joe Higgins, welcomed the appointments, stating that the two individuals had considerable experience and that, with their help, the company would be able to successfully work with a growing number of private and public sector institutions, in Ireland and Europe.
Certus employs some 850 people in its Dublin headquarters and offices in Belfast, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Sligo and Waterford. The company describes itself as specialising in loan servicing, arrears management and corporate debt recovery.
