Property investors eyeing Dublin - survey

Dublin is one of the top ten cities being targeted by European property investors this year, according to a survey carried out by property consultants CBRE.

340 investors were asked which city they believed was most attractive for investment. London was named by 37%, with Polish capital Warsaw second on 12%. Paris, Munich and Berlin filled the next three place, with Dublin sixth.

CBRE's Irish research chief Marie Hunt said there had been a notable increase in the number of investors looking at the Irish market. "The lack of prime property assets to satisfy this demand is, however, frustrating,” she added.

Overall, the CBRE survey found that the UK was the most attractive property market for investment in Europe for nearly a third (31%) of investors - very close to its position in 2010, but up significantly from 16% in 2011. Germany was the second most attractive market, selected by 27% of investors, followed by Central and Eastern European (CEE) markets with 19%. France and Spain were less popular than in 2011.
