The High Court has this evening confirmed the appointment of Luke Charlton of Ernst & Young as provisional liquidator of Weston, the company that operates the Weston Aerodrome near Lucan in Co Dublin.
The appointment follows an application from the Weston directors to ensure that the continuing operation of the airport is protected.
A statement from the company said that the ''difficult step'' of seeking the appointment of the provisional liquidator was taken when the extent of a number of previously undisclosed cost claims became evident to the directors after their appointment.
The current board of directors was appointed on April 26 last, following on the appointment of Kieran Wallace of KPMG as share charge receiver over the company.
This evening's statement said that the business has traded well since April.
