Hotel software start-up raises €700,000

An Irish start-up company which provides software for the hotel sector has raised €700,000 for its expansion plans.

Eventovate's investment includes funding from Enterprise Ireland, a Bank of Ireland start-up fund managed by Delta Partners; and the AIB Seed Capital Fund managed by Dublin Business Innovation Centre.

The company will use the funds for growth in a European market estimated to be worth over €260m a year. Eventovate already has customers such as the K-Club, Carlton Group and The Malton in Killarney.

Set up in 2009 by Sligo-born brothers Jonathan and Jason Ruane, Eventovate has developed a cloud-based software system for hotels, to enable them increase revenue and manage costs from events such as weddings. The system is cloud-based, which means it is deployed through the internet.
