Finance Minister Michael Noonan has branded the severance package given to the former managing director of AIB Colm Doherty as 'an absolute disgrace.'
It was revealed last month that Mr Doherty walked away with a €3m deal when he left the bank at the end of last year. The minister told the Dail that such a payment undermines social solidarity.
Minister Noonan also defended the Nyberg Commission into the banking crisis which didn't name those it believed were responsbile for the turmoil. The Minister said Mr Nyberg did not want to undermine parallel investigations.
