Factory gate prices rose by almost 1% in March, according to official figures released from the Central Statistics Office.
March's 0.9% rise compares to an increase of 0.6% in February.
Factory gate prices refer to the price of goods before they reach the consumer.
Home sales rose by 1% during March, while export sales decreased by 0.5%.
There were significant increases in food and dairy prices in March, an 8.4% rise in meat and meat products and a 7.7% rise in dairy.
The price of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations was down 7.4% in March, however.
The figures show that building and construction costs have risen 4.6% in the year since March 2010.
They also show that the cost of energy is rising, with energy products up by 1.8% in March, and petroleum fuels (energy products excluding electricity) up by 4.7%.
