The Total Fitness chain of gyms has announced the immediate closure of its three centres in Dublin. The Total Fitness gyms in Castleknock, Malahide and Sandyford all closed at midnight last night.
The company behind the chain, Centre Operators Limited, blamed the high level of rent on the properties for the closure.
The company said it had tried to renegotiate the rents, but was unsuccessful.
In a statement on its website, the company said it regretted the redundancies and the impact on its members. It said a liquidator would be appointed.
