Denis O'Brien's mobile phone group Digicel has reported strong growth in revenue and profits for the three months to the end of December.
Revenues were $580m, up 32% compared with the same period a year earlier. EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) was also up 32% to a record $240m.
Subscriber numbers grew by 7% to 11.5 million. Digitel operates in 30 markets in the Caribbean, El Salvador and the Pacific. Digicel also said revenue from data had doubled compared with the same period in 2009.
