The EBS Building Society is to stop offering customers fixed rate mortgages. A spokesman for the lender said the decision reflected the cost to the institution of providing the loans.
Last week the building society said it was to increase its standard variable rate next month by 0.6 percentage points to 4.2%.
Today's announcement on fixed rates will also apply to the lender's broker channel Haven.
