20-year-old fashion design student Greta Lelyte has bagged the top prize, having been chosen by leading Irish fashion designer Joanne Hynes.
Lithuanian native Lelyte is from Tralee, Co Kerry, and is a second year student at the Limerick School of Art & Design.
Hynes picked her favourite five designs (pictured below) out of a huge number of entries and each finalist received a bursary from Gillette to bring their design to life.
The four other finalists included Eunsun Ban from Griffith College, Amrei Becker from Grafton Academy of Dress Designing, Laura Jennings from Limerick School of Art and Design, LIT and Michael Gurhy from St. John’s College, Cork.

On winning the competition, Greta said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have won, I spent weeks working on the dress and I’m delighted with the outcome. I’m over the moon that Joanne Hynes recognized the work I have put into it. I’m heavily influenced by pop icons, the 60’s era and Art Nouveau and this is also reflected in the design in addition to the razor.”
Joanne Hynes said of her decision: “I chose Greta’s dress as it showed creativity, form and skill. The finish of the dress was to a high-standard and I wish her all the best in her future fashion career.”
