Ireland has dropped three places in a survey of country reputations, carried out across the general public in G8 countries.
In the CountryRep 2010 study, carried out by Corporate Reputations, Ireland dropped from 11th position to 14th out of 38 countries surveyed.
However, in a separate self-image survey, Irish people rated Ireland in 19th position, five places below last year's score of 14, indicating that Ireland does not view itself as positively as it is viewed externally.
Sweden has been ranked the most reputable country in the world, followed by Canada and then Australia.
The survey found that Iran was the least reputable state.
The general public in the G8 countries - Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, UK, USA - were surveyed for their perception of which countries are the most attractive to invest in.
