The European Parliament has approved €2.57m in funding to help retrain workers made redundant by Waterford Crystal and three of its suppliers.
The Government is also contributing, bringing the total to €3.9m. 653 workers will be able to apply with each receiving just over €6,000.
Fine Gael MEP Sean Kelly has called on the Government to urgently put in place a system to administer the fund.
