Paul Groarke and Garrett Hussey have won the 2009 David Manley Emerging Entrepreneur award.
The pair have developed a 'gaming approach' to help students learn foreign languages. Their company 'RendezVu' was set up in January 2008 and is based at NovaUCD. It aims to attract and maintain students' interest in learning English through virtual world technology.
The aim of the David Manley awards is to nurture and recognise the enterprising spirit in business, the arts and community. Businessman Alfie Kane chaired the panel of judges.
RTE's John Murray was also presented with the inaugural David Manley Media award today. The presenter of 'The Business', John was commended on his dedication and commitment to regular coverage of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs.
