Irish Continental Group says it is looking at the best options for its cruise ferry Pride of Bilboa.
ICG owns the ferry, which P&O European Ferries had leased to use on its Portsmouth-Bilboa route. P&O has decided to drop the route from September 2010 and the vessel will then return to ICG.
The cruise ship, which was built in 1986, is among the 20 largest in the world. The 37,583 tonne vessel can carry 2,500 passengers and 850 cars. The ship has 2,373 berths in 841 cabins and can carry 62 freight units. It also has a night club, casino, two bars, three restaurants, a cinema and shopping facilities.
ICG says it has received expressions of interest from potential purchasers and charterers of the vessel over a number of years and will now engage in a review of the options for the Pride of Bilboa for 2011 and beyond.
