Ryanair is unlikely to reach a deal with Boeing on new aircraft orders because the US plane maker wants to change the delivery conditions.
'We've now pretty much reached agreement with Boeing on price, but the deal is unlikely to take place because now they want to go back and change delivery conditions,' Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary told Reuters in an interview.
'Unless they change their position over the next week, the deal is off,' he said.
Meanwhile, the low-cost carrier announced today that it will be basing an extra new plane at Dusseldorf (Weeze).
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft will bring Ryanair's total number of planes at the German airport to eight, and the company will also start two new routes from there.
The new routes will be to Lappeenranta in Finland and Szczecin in Poland. Services will begin from March of next year.
Ryanair has also announced six new routes from Charleroi in Belgium from March. They are to Ibiza, Kaunas, Krakow, Nador, Seville and Zadar. The airline will base four new planes at the airport.
