Euro zone industrial prices rise in October

Euro zone industrial production prices rose by 0.2% in October, reversing a fall of 0.4% recorded in September, official EU statistics showed today.

The price changes were at the same levels across the 27-nation European Union as a whole, which also includes Britain and eastern industrial powerhouse Poland.

Compared to a year earlier, October industrial producer prices dropped by 6.7% in the euro area and by 5.8% across the full bloc.

Key energy sector prices rose in October by 1% and 0.7% in the two zones compared to September - with the annual fall pegged at 14.4% and 12.7% respectively.
