The company which bottles and distributes Coca-Cola products in Ireland has said it is planning to close its warehousing and distribution depots in the Republic, in a move which could lead to 130 jobs being lost.
Coca-Cola HBC, formerly Coca-Cola Bottlers, currently employs 1,250 people on the island of Ireland.
It said a review of its business had concluded that its costs were too high and 'decisive action' was needed. As a result, it planned to outsource its logistics business.
The move would affect jobs in Dublin, Cork, Tuam, Tipperary, Waterford and Killarney. But the company says it is committed to consulting workers about the plans, and would be prepared to discuss all options with them.
