The IDA and Enterprise Ireland are expecting a response within the next fortnight to five business proposals being considered by SR Technics, the airline maintenance company that is closing its Dublin Airport operation with the loss of over 1,100 jobs.
The five interested parties have made bids to take over various parts of the business at the Dublin Airport plant.
So far over 720 staff have been laid off, including 42 workers who were made redundant today. The first batch of nearly 600 workers were let go this day four weeks ago.
The interested parties are said to be a mixture of Irish and international investors, and its understood that all proposals include hiring staff on new pay terms and conditions.
The IDA and Enterprise Ireland have said they remain confident that a successful conclusion can be reached.
SR Technics has been reviewing the proposals for some time now and the two State agencies are expecting a decision from the company within the next two weeks.
Over 720 people have lost their jobs since the company announced it was closing just two-and-a-half months ago.
SR Technics has said it will cease operations in Ireland by the end of August of this year.
