Three RTÉ journalists were honoured today at the Business Journalist Awards sponsored by UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
David Murphy won first place in the Business Broadcast category for his Prime Time report on Denis O'Brien with producer Mark Lappin while Emma McNamara was announced a finalist in the same category for her Morning Ireland item entitled 'Pet Economy'.
The awards, which are now in their second year, reward excellence in Irish business journalism across print, broadcast and online media. Over 100 entries were received for the awards this year, across eight categories.
Other winners included journalists from the Sunday Business Post, the Sunday Times, Business & Finance magazine, Irish News and the Sunday Independent.
