Aer Lingus awards maintenance contracts

Aer Lingus has awarded two more contracts for the maintenance of planes to Sabena Technics and Sogerma Services.

These contracts cover the base, or airframe, maintenance of its A320 and A330 planes. The new contracts start on November 1.

Aer Lingus says the 10-year contracts provide for a renegotiation of the terms at specified future dates if the market prices for engineering services change during the period.

Aer Lingus had put four maintenance contracts, previously held by Dublin-based SR Technics, out to tender. The airline retained only one of the contracts - line maintenance - with SR Technics.
