Pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline is to make 100 of its permanent Cork staff redundant.
In a statement issued this morning, the company said that due to falling volumes for the products manufactured at its plant at Currabinny, it will have to lay off 100 workers. Formal consultations are to begin immediately.
The company, which is one of the world's biggest pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, employs over 1,600 people across four sites in Cork, Waterford and Dublin.
