Connaught Electronics (CEL), which is based in Tuam, Co Galway, has been bought by French multinational Valeo.
The company employs nearly 300 people at Tuam and in Humpolec in the Czech Republic.
CEL was established in 1982. It develops and produces car electronic components, particularly camera applications for driving assistance functions and radio frequency applications for remote vehicle access and security.
