Health and Safety executive named CEO

The assistant CEO of the Health and Safety Authority, Martin O'Halloran, has been named as the new chief executive.

He has held the assistant CEO position since November 2003, and he will take up his new post as CEO of the Authority in June.

From the end of 1992 to November 1995 he served as a non-executive director of the then National Authority for Occupational Safety and Health (HSA).

Mr O'Halloran was also Irish delegate to the European Commission advisory committee on Occupational Safety and Health from 1992 to 1995.

He has previously worked for the former Telecom Eireann, Eircom and Vodafone.
