Fourth quarter profits at Puma AG, Europe's second largest sporting goods maker, have fallen by 26% as the company spent more money to design new shoes and clothes and showcase its products in stores and advertisements.
Net income at the sporting goods company fell to €32.8m from €44.1m a year earlier. In the same period, sales rose 38% to €480.6m.
Puma, which is famous for its leaping-cat logo, has seen sales quintuple in the last six years, boosted by nostalgia for the 1970s and Puma's 1970s inspired products.
