The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment today announced the establishment of the Business Regulation Forum, which will be chaired by Donal De Buitleir of AIB Group.
Micheal Martin said the forum is a key element in implementing the Government's commitment to better regulation and to address administrative burdens which can be genuinely be identified as disproportionate.
'My intention is that the Business Regulation Forum will advise me and I, in turn, will advise the Government, on regulatory issues as they impact on business and competitiveness, in particular on issues and on problems arising from outdated, inefficent or disproportionate regulation,' the Minister said.
The other members of the Forum are Permanent TSB's Deputy CEO Diarmuid Bradley, IBEC's Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs Marie Daly, SFA Director Pat Delaney, Kinsale Capital's Gearoid Doyle, Irish Bankers' Federation's CEO Pat Farrell, ISME's CEO Mark Fielding, Maurice Healy of the Healy Group, Intel Ireland's Public Affairs Manager Trevor Holmes, the Consumers' Association of Ireland's CEO Dermott Jewell, UCC's Irene Lynch Fannon, Senator Fergal Quinn, Dublin Airport Authority's Miriam Reynolds and Imelda Reynolds, who is the non-executive Director of the Chambers of Commerce of Ireland.
