Bewley's has confirmed that its premises on Dublin's Grafton Street will re-open in May.

The new operation will be executively managed on behalf of Bewley's by the owners of Sherland Entertainments, Jay Bourke and Eoin Foyle. They currently operate Café Bar Deli, Eden, Odessa, RiRa and the Market Bar in Dublin city.

Bewley's will continue to be the sole occupier of the premises and it is anticipated that the café will re-open in mid May.

In a statement, Bewley's said the food offer at its new operation will be very different. The Grafton Street premises will  incorporate four distinct concepts including a café and patisserie on the ground floor, a fish restaurant and a restaurant serving Mediterranean type food.

Bewley's Café Theatre will also be re-established on the top floor of the building and will include cabaret and jazz performances in the evening time.

The Café Bar Deli on Georges Street in Dublin is in the shop originally occupied by the first Bewley's Café which opened in 1894.
