- Extended description
Austin Currie MP seeks to unite those opposed to Unionism.
This new unity must be a real alternative to the Unionist Party, not only on constitutional issues but also on social and economic issues. Currie describes the Unionist Party as right-of-centre and reactionary. An alternative must be left-of-centre, progressive and non-sectarian, according to Currie. He also talks about issues of 'identity' for people in Northern Ireland being half British and half Irish.
