John McGuffin felt that this march was essential in highlighting the situation in Northern Ireland and described it as "an attempt to change the rotten state of misgovernment that we have in the North". McGuffin also states that the government must do something about counter-demonstrations.
McGuffin goes on to describe how the protestors were attacked and badly beaten. McGuffin also points out that the People's Democracy is fighting for the rights of both Catholics and Protestants. He further comments that "Paisleyites aren't our enemies. They're just deluded by leaders who are using them". They are joined in the studio by Tom McGurk and Bernadette Devlin, who also took part in the "marathon, 17 mile march".
