    Councillor Resigns following Death Threats
  • Extended description

The film shows several shop-fronts with broken windows, a damaged car and shop-front hoardings being removed.

Labour councillor Jack Hassard then gives the reasons for his resignation - death threats that have been made to himself and his wife, and threats to kidnap his family. He describes the people that made these threats as "cowards".

Hassard recognises that the authorities need to take strong action to reinstate law and order if we are to avoid civil war.
Hassard recounts how he and his wife had been attacked by unionists the previous night.
