From 'Donncha's Travelling Roadshow' an interview with Christy Ring shortly before his death and broadcast less than 2 weeks following his death.
Broadcast on 14 March 1979 almost two weeks following his death, Donncha Ó Dúlaing chats to Christy Ring at his home about his initial interest in hurling, how he got started in the game and his early career. Ring is regarded by many as one of the greatest hurlers of all time and throughout his career represented Munster for a record twenty three consecutive seasons, winning a record eighteen railway cup medals. He also won thirteen championship medals at league level with Glen Rovers. During his career Ring also made sixty five championship appearances for Cork.
Christy Ring died on 2 March 1979 at the age of 58.
