On this day in 1984 an array of the latest computer technology is on display at the 'Computer 84' exhibition being held at the R.D.S., Dublin.
Everything a business man or woman wants to know about a computer can be found out at the biggest computer exhibition ever to take place in Ireland. With the Irish market for computer services growing at a faster rate than any other country in the E.E.C., the exhibition includes many new computer systems which are being launched to the market for the first time.
Computers are now being used for everything from storing information to designing your own office suite.
Some of the most startling technological advances are being made in the field of telecommunications with Telecom Éireann planning to launch a new data transmission service later in the year.
