Ash Wednesday Smoking Ban on Buses
Today is Ash Wednesday and National No Smoking Day in Ireland.
On Ash Wednesday in 1988, Shay Healy boarded a Dublin bus to ask passengers how they felt about the introduction of a new smoking ban on buses.
This report from 'Evening Extra' 17 February 1988 coincides with the introduction of a smoking ban on buses, National No Smoking Day and Ash Wednesday.
'Evening Extra' was a nightly magazine programme which ran from Monday to Friday at 7pm on RTÉ 1.
