Overview: Generally unsettled with low pressure dominating. Monday night: Clear spells and scattered showers at first. Cloud will build from the west overnight, bringing outbreaks of rain. Patches of mist and fog will form as winds become light and variable. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees. Tuesday: A cloudy start to the day with rain in the south and east and scattered showers in the northwest. There’ll be patches of mist and fog too. The cloud and rain will gradually clear eastwards through the morning and early afternoon, leaving mainly dry weather and clear spells. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees with light and variable winds becoming light to moderate northerly. Tuesday night: Cold and dry with long clear spells leading to frost and possibly some ice. Cloud will increase across the west later. Lowest temperatures of -2 to +3 degrees with light to moderate northwesterly winds becoming southerly. Wednesday: Cloud and rain will spread eastwards across the country during Wednesday and it’ll become breezy with moderate to fresh southerly winds developing. Highest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees, coldest in Ulster. Wednesday night: Cloud and rain will clear eastwards on Wednesday night and will be followed by clear spells and scattered showers, most of these towards Atlantic coasts. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees with light to moderate southwesterly winds. Thursday: Many areas will be dry with sunny spells at first, although showers will affect western areas. Through the day, cloud and showery rain will track northeastwards across the country. Highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees with light to moderate south to southwest winds. Further outlook: Remaining changeable and sometimes unsettled for the rest of the week.
