Luke McGrath has been called up to the Ireland squad for Sunday's visit of Argentina to the Aviva Stadium.

The Leinster scrum-half is drafted in after his provincial team-mate Jamison Gibson-Park was ruled out due to a thigh injury.

It's a first call-up for McGrath since March 2020, while he has yet to feature for his country since the 2019 World Cup.

Gibson-Park's injury opens the door for either Conor Murray or Craig Casey to start against Argentina in Ireland's final Test of 2020.

It's likely to be an all-Munster half-back combination, with Joey Carbery in line to wear the No 10 shirt due to Johnny Sexton's knee and ankle injuries.

The IRFU have also confirmed James Ryan will captain the side in Sexton's absence.
