Connacht head coach Andy Friend hailed "a good day’s" work after his side ensured a Challenge Cup quarter-final against Sale Sharks in March.
The westerns made it two wins from two in France this year thanks to a late as Matt Healy and Jack Carty touched down.
Friend said: "It's a good day's work. We said at the start of the European campaign that we wanted to be in the quarter-final. We're now in that and we are away to Sale. We know exactly what is coming there. Between now and then we have a few Pro 14 games so we have to be sure we're ready for those.
"We're yet to play our best game of rugby. Our errors are keeping the opposition in the game. But, we showed a lot of belief and character again and managed to get the win, with the bonus point. To win in France is a great achievement. We're pleased we've done it and we've got a quarter-final."
Friend was unhappy with the number of mistakes from his team because, as has been the case for a number of recent games, Connacht made it more difficult that it needed to be.
"We know we're good enough. We just to have that belief and we have to look after the football. When we did that, pressure mounted and tries came.
"There were just too many moments where we had them under pressure and we released it with either a simple error or a penalty against us. We have to be a better side than that if we want to go further. It'll go down as a good win for us but not without a bit of stress.
"That's the thing with the team. We don't give up hope and we don't give up fighting. That shows the belief within the group. We just have to make it less stressful on the poor old coach!"
Some of Connacht stars will now depart for Ireland duty for the Six Nations and Friend said they can go there ready to make a big impact.
"I was pleased for Jack [Carty getting the try]. There were probably a couple of other moments in that game he wouldn't be so happy with. It's a big occasion because he knows, as does Tom Farrell, Caolin Blade and Bundee Aki, that they are on a plane to Portugal tomorrow.
"But they focus on their job. I'm really proud of them and Ultan to get their call-up for Ireland. They are going to go well if selected."
