Lauren Walsh made the cut at the Riviera Maya Open but the Irish player is a long way back in Mexico as she trails American leading pair Nelly Korda and Brianna Do who both sit on nine-under par.
Walsh carded her second successive round of 72 to enter the weekend on level par to sit in a tie for 41st.
An early starter in Round 2, bogeys at five and six had her two over for her front nine before recovering with birdies at the 10th and the closing par-five 18th.
No such joy for Stephanie Meadow who finished on five-over par, well outside the cut-line. It was a real up and down round for the Antrim golfer with her card containing five birdies, five bogeys and a messy double bogey on the 16th – her seventh hole.
For now Korda – world no. 1 – and Do – world no. 345 – lead the way.
Korda - fresh off her third major victory at last week's Chevron Championship - shot a five-under-par 67.
She tied Do, who shared the first-round lead with Melanie Green and posted a 69 Friday.
Do held the top spot at 10-under for most of her inward nine, but she committed her only flub on her final hole, a bogey at the par-four ninth, to slip back to single figures.
Green ended the day alone in third at eight under, and Japan's Minami Katsu sits in fourth at seven under.
