Lauren Walsh is six shots off the lead in Mexico after posting an even par opening round at the Riviera Maya Open.
The Kildare golfer recorded four birdies and four bogeys, two of each in either nine as she registered an opening round of 72 to sit in a tie for 43rd.
Walsh leads the Irish challenge at Mayakoba, with Stephanie Meadow three strokes further back after an opening day 75. Leona Maguire, who missed the cut at last week's Chevron Championship, opted out of this week's event.
After Round 1, the lead is jointly shared by American duo Brianna Do and Melanie Green on six under, the latter of whom recorded a hole-in-one on the 15th - her sixth - en route to an outward nine of 30.
European Solheim Cup stalwart Carlota Ciganda is in sole possession of third spot on five under par.
World No. 1 Nelly Korda, who cantered to her third major championship victory at the Chevron last weekend, is among the grouping at four under par after an opening round 68.
