The GAA and IRFU are unconcerned by the General Election date being set for Saturday 8 February.
President Michael D Higgins dissolved the 32nd Dáil on Tuesday, setting in motion the build-up to a first General Election to be held on a Saturday since 1918.
The election date coincides with both international and domestic sports fixtures in Dublin.
Ireland's second 2020 Six Nations game of the campaign against Wales takes place at Aviva Stadium on the same day at 2.15pm.
Later that evening, the Allianz National Football League fixture between Dublin and Monaghan takes place at Croke Park, with throw-in at 7pm.
However, the GAA and the IRFU have both indicated to RTÉ Sport that they do not expect the election date to unduly impact their respective fixtures when it comes to the issues of policing numbers or traffic management.
