Man charged after assault leaves hip-hop artist blind in one eye

A 27 year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with an assault in Limerick city, which left a hip-hop artist blind in one eye.

Dylan Tully with an address at 3 Parkview Court, Lord Edward Street, is charged with assaulting Tobi Omoteso causing him harm, at Moylish Roundabout, Old Cratloe Road on 28 March.

Mr Tully is also charged with damaging the driver window of a black Nissan Qashqai belonging to Mr Omoteso.

There was no garda objection to bail during the brief hearing at Limerick District Court.

Judge Patricia Harney remanded the accused on bail until 23 September pending the directions of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr Tully must abide by bail conditions which include surrendering his passport and signing on at Roxboro Garda Station.

Judge Harney also told the accused that he must not contact the alleged injured party, directly or indirectly on social media.
