Two men have been injured in an assault in Kilcock, Co Kildare.

It happened on Bridge Street, close to the train station, at 11am yesterday morning.

A man aged in his early 20s and a teenager received stab wounds.

They were taken to Naas General Hospital for treatment.

Their injuries are not life threatening.

A man in his early 20s and a teenager were arrested at the scene and questioned by gardaí.

They have since been released without charge.
