Public transport provider Translink has introduced an extra stop at Lisburn on its cross border Enterprise train service for those wishing to lay flowers at Hillsborough Castle, the royal residence in Northern Ireland.

Free shuttle buses are operating between Lisburn Train Station and the Eikon Centre Park and Ride from 10am to 8pm, connecting passengers with the onward shuttle service to Royal Hillsborough.

A statement from the company this afternoon said the arrangement will be in place during the UK's official period of mourning until further notice.

The Enterprise service normally only stops at Portadown, Dundalk and Drogheda on its way between Belfast and Dublin.
