The Taoiseach has told a meeting of his party's TDs and Senators that the review of the Confidence and Supply Agreement should not take too long.
The review will begin tomorrow when the Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael negotiating teams hold a meeting in Leinster House.
Leo Varadkar said Fine Gael wanted a renewal of the agreement to provide the country with continued certainty and political stability.
On Brexit, the Taoiseach said the Government was standing firm on the backstop as agreed in December, March and June.
He said there was a window of opportunity to get a deal struck between now and December.
The meeting also heard that the party Ard Fheis next month will consider the latest version of the Building a Republic of Opportunity document.
The policy document will be viewed by some as the basis of any election manifesto the party may publish in the future.
