A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California yesterday morning, launching three Canadian satellites into orbit.
The launch, SpaceX's seventh this year, took place amid heavy fog, which obscured the launchpad.
The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at 7.17am local time (3.17pm Irish time).
SpaceX completed its second 'land landing' on the West Coast successfully, the company said in a tweet after the rocket came back.
