Cash taken during Co Tipperary post office robbery

An investigation is under way into an armed robbery at a post office in Co Tipperary.

A man, brandishing a suspected firearm, entered Fethard Post Office on Main Street in the town at around 1.50pm.

He made off on foot with an undisclosed sum of cash.

It is understood that no one was injured during the raid but it is not known how many people were in the post office at the time.

Gardaí have appealed to witnesses to contact them.
