A man's body has been discovered at a house in Cork city.
The body was found at around 4pm by gardaí at Barrack View, near Shandon, on Cork's northside, after the alarm was raised by a passerby.
It is understood the man was last seen alive a number of days ago.
Gardaí say they are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
The scene has been preserved, and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out tomorrow, the results of which will direct the nature of the garda investigation.
