The Cork Council of Trade Unions, an umbrella organisation for the trade union movement in Cork, has unveiled a banner on Connolly Hall, the SIPTU headquarters in the city, calling on the Government to enact the Occupied Territories Bill.
Cork Council of Trade Unions President Joe Kelly also presented a bowl of shamrock to representatives of the Palestinian community in Cork at a lunchtime ceremony.
"The bowl of shamrock symbolises the continuing solidarity between the people of Ireland and Palestine," Mr Kelly said.

"Just as we have long links to the people of America, through our shared history of oppression and long search for peace, our people are now similarly linked to Palestine."
Cork Council of Trade Unions spokesperson and SIPTU Divisional Organiser, Adrian Kane said: "By our symbolic presentation of a bowl of shamrock to the Cork Palestinian community, we wish to make clear that the people of Ireland stand with the Palestinians in their search for peace and justice in their homeland."
Mr Kane called for Frances Black's Occupied Territories Bill to be enacted immediately.

The Government has promised to progress the legislation prohibiting goods from Occupied Palestinian Territories but has said substantive amendments to the current Bill are required.
Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Harris told the Dáil last month that after receiving legal advice on the bill, there were major issues to overcome.
Mr Harris pledged to work with all parties to get the legislation moving through the Oireachtas.
Mr Kane said: "The Government must live up to its commitment to the people of Ireland and Palestine by enacting the Occupied Territories Bill immediately.
"We cannot accept products or services in Ireland which are produced on land illegally stolen from the Palestinian people."
